STUDY 2
Aims and findings of study 2 in early childhood education
Effectiveness of the programmes
Study 2 consists of a quantitative analysis of the effects of the catch-up and support programmes in early childhood education.
We will contact a sample of five early childhood education centres to find out whether they have the instruments and data required to monitor the development of pre-school children. If so, we will use these to carry out an outcome evaluation.

Qualitative case studies
Qualitative case studies in two centres to investigate the effective elements of the programmes.

Quantitative evaluation
An online questionnaire for the pedagogical staff about the effects on the social-emotional development of the children.
Results
Throughout the research, we will work closely together with schools and other sector partners (Council for Primary Education, Dutch Inspectorate of Education, Ministry of Education) to share our research findings – where possible during implementation of the programmes.
